I was in Russia for over two months and can't recall all the valuable moments because there were so many. But I think that both schools really pushed to help you with anything you needed. I had some personal issues to deal with in both cities and received so much support and help from both. I can't thank everyone enough. For anyone interested in learning Russian, this is the course/school to attend. At any level, students are pushed, encouraged and invited to enrich themselves with the surrounding Russian culture and language. What better place to learn, than in Russia? I thoroughly enjoyed my experience and have already planned my return. Hope to see you here!
Nachdem ich schon im Dezember 2015 bei Exlinguo in Sankt Petersburg zu Besuch war, hat mich Exlinguo Novosibirsk, mit seinen Lehrern und meiner Gastfamilie, positiv überrascht. In Novosibirsk studiert es sich einfach besser als in den Megapolen Moskau und Sankt Petersburg. Die Stadt ist nicht so überrannt, man geht nicht so leicht in der Menge unter und ist auch einfach entspannter beim Lernen. Exlinguo Novosibirsk trägt dazu mit seinen sehr zuvorkommenden Lehrkräften bei. Diese haben durch ihre persönliche und individuelle Vorbereitung eine intime und vertrauensvolle Atmosphäre zu schaffen gewusst. Zum Beispiel wurden einige Stunden extra über meinen zukünftigen Arbeitgeber oder meine Privatinteressen gehalten. Mein Fazit ist, nächstes Jahr wohl wiederzukommen, so lange bis ich auf Russisch studieren kann.
I have nothing but praise for Exlinguo! After a three-week stint last year, I returned to St Petersburg this year for another three weeks and added a week in Novosibirsk for yet another fabulous experience. All communication with the school is swift and to the point - the organisation runs like clockwork. Being in an eclectic group of Russian learners makes for a stimulating environment, all enhanced by very attentive teachers who know how to blend the interests and ambitions of the students. The lessons were demanding yet satisfying, and at times so animated and absorbing that nobody knew where the time had gone. The lessons were well thought through;the written material was at times even tailored to our personal situation as to prompt us to speak about our lives and reality. An indication of how good the school is can be seen by the number of students who return. Of the dozen or so students I met last year, three were back this year - all equally impressed by the quality of the teaching and the environment created at the school. If you want to maximise your potential to learn Russian, choose Exlinguo! If possible, I will be back!
Jeg tror at Exlinguos russiskkurs er det mest profesjonelle og velorganiserte opplegget jeg har deltatt på. I Russland så vel som i Norge og andre land, og hva gjelder selve språkundervisningen så vel som alt det administrative rundt. Det var verdt hver krone og jeg anbefaler det virkelig på det sterkeste. Lærerne er kunnskapsrike, vennlige, og kanskje viktigst av alt: solide og dyktige pedagoger! I tillegg håndterer skolens administrasjon alle spørsmål man skulle måtte ha i forbindelse med opphold og lignende smidig og seriøst. Jeg bodde sammen med en kjempehyggelig liten familie like ved skolen og kan på bakgrunn av den erfaringen virkelig anbefale å bo med vertsfamilie.
Mon stage de deux semaines en juin 2016 a été tellement merveilleux que je me demande, quelques jours après mon retour en France, si ce n'était pas un rêve... Tout était réuni pour concourir au séjour parfait : un accompagnement efficace durant l'étape de l'inscription et des formalités administratives ; un accueil en famille soigné ; le souci constant de veiller à mon immersion optimale ; une famille adorable, bienveillante et communicante ; une répartition intelligente des niveaux de langues témoignant d'une approche humaine et professionnelle ; des enseignants d'exception ; une pédagogie de haut vol, assurée par des personnalités ô combien généreuses et attachantes ; un espace de cours et de travail convivial, lumineux, propice à l'étude et idéalement situé en plein centre-ville, en face d'un parc de bouleaux ; du matériel de qualité, à la pointe de la technologie ; cerise sur le gâteau, une météo à l'image de ce centre et de son personnel : chaleureuse et ensoleillée. Dès que j'ai posé le pied à Novossibirsk, j'ai été submergée d'une sensation de bonheur qui s'est confirmée au fil des jours et des cours. Aujourd'hui, le souvenir fabuleux de cette expérience linguistique me procure un sourire ravi qui, je l'espère, sera contagieux !
In april-mei volgde ik 4 weken les in Novosibirsk. De sneeuw was jammer genoeg al gesmolten, maar het was een uiterst interessante ervaring! Eerst en vooral, heb ik mijn Russisch opgefrist en bijgeschaafd. De lessen zijn intens, maar de moeite! De leerkrachten zijn heel bekwaam, de lessen zijn op maat gemaakt (op basis van je niveau, je interesses die blijken uit gesprekken in de klas,...) en er wordt op verschillende manieren onderwezen (ten gepaste tijde laten zelfs leuke YouTube filmpjes je verschillende aspecten van de Russische cultuur zien)! De sfeer in de school in Novosibirsk was heel aangenaam en het lerarenteam was altijd vrolijk! Daarnaast verbleef ik in een gastgezin, waardoor ik buiten de lesuren mijn Russisch verder kon oefenen bij een lekker avondmaal en ja, soms ook vodka. Verder hebben we samen leuke uitstapjes gedaan. Als ik mijn Russisch nog verder wil bijschaven, zal ik zeker voor Exlinguo kiezen (en bij voorkeur Novosibirsk)!
The Exlinguo program in Novosibirsk is simply excellent. If you are on the fence, do it! I have spent time in several immersive language institutes, in Germany and in the United States. Exlinguo is as good as, or better than, all that I have experienced. I especially appreciated the combination of fun and rigor. The staff create a very pleasant, productive environment in and out of the classroom. Small class sizes allowed me to form a real relationship with the teachers. Breaks and extracurricular excursions become opportunities to continue conversations and "test drive" new vocabulary. The administrative staff in the center were charming. They were happy to provide conversation along with assistance with any logistical issues. In this pleasant environment I often stopped noticing how rigorous my learning regime was. I headed to Siberia looking for a very intense program. I was not disappointed. My courses were well-structured and demanding. With help from a wonderful host family I continued practicing my conversation skills everyday at breakfast and again at dinner. All in all a great experience.
My week at Exlinguo Novosibirsk was incredible. All staff are so friendly and welcoming. They really encourage you to use and learn Russian and their enthusiasm is infectious! My host home stay and the cultural activities also gave me an insight into Russian life and culture - rather different from London town living, but I loved it. Overall a wonderful week for me and I hope to return next year!
Neljä tapahtumarikasta, antoisaa ja kaikin puolin mahtavaa opiskeluviikkoa myöhemmin en voisi olla kiitollisempi ja onnellisempi. Ikimuistoisimmat kokemukset elämässä saavutetaan, kun uskaltaa lähteä kohti tuntematonta ja sitä Novosibirsk ja Siperia minulle vielä kuukausi sitten olivat. En olisi kuitenkaan ikinä uskonut, että kielikurssi todella osoittautuu yhtä erinomaiseksi kuin palautteiden perusteella saattoi odottaa tai Novosibirsk kaupungiksi, jossa olisin viettänyt vielä pari kuukautta mielelläni lisää. Tässä sitä kuitenkin ollaan toistamassa aiempien palautteiden sanomaa. Taitavat, mukavat ja opiskelijat yksilöinä huomioonottavat opettajat, pienet opetusryhmät, modernit opetustilat, intensiivinen kulttuuriohjelma monipuolisine aktiviteetteineen, välittävä isäntäperhe ja motivoituneet kanssaopiskelijat takasivat oppimistulokset ja viihtymisen. En siis kadu hetkeäkään sitä, että valitsin juuri Exlinguon ja Novosibirskin opiskelupaikaksi. Sydämellinen kiitos!
All the staff are very nice, professional and enthusiastic
Thank you so much for three amazing weeks! I have tried to learn the Russian language for some years. I reached a point, after two years with Skype lessons, where I realised it would be more efficient to spend some weeks in a language school in Russia. It's a jungle of schools out there and I choose Exlinguo, as I have read the positive recommendations and the very quick and professional response I received. From my first email contact you have been very professional, always have replied quickly and provided me with all the help and information I have needed for my visa, school, host family and so on. The school was beyond my expectations. All the staff are very nice, professional and enthusiastic, the girl in the reception was especially helpful. They worked very hard to make our stay valuable and knock in the grammar, new words, sentences, Russian culture, history, music and lots of other interesting subjects. They also adapted the lessons to subjects of special interest for the students. For most of the evenings during the weeks, there were special things going on for us together with the staff. There were Russian movies, Russian humor, thematic discussions, card games or making food, just to mention some. I was also very lucky with my host family; mother with two sons, who were very nice to me. The mother took me along to visit some friends of hers, invited me for lunch at a Spa resort in the forest. Her son and I played card games in the evenings, went to a concert and to the Planetarium. Novosibirsk is a very nice, friendly, modern and very safe city where it`s impossible to get bored. I walked all over the city and never faced any problems. On the contrary, the citizens were very helpful and patient with my Russian. The cultural life is super and in my spare time I went to the Opera, to a rock concert, exhibitions and museums. My plan now is to work with what I have learned during this time and go back for further lessons next year.
I spent the most useful and interesting two months at the Exlinguo centres in Novosibirsk and St. Petersburg. I felt that my time at the schools allowed my Russian language skills to progress as quickly and well as they possibly could, and I had a great time exploring both cities and experiencing Russian culture first hand. Not only are the teachers excellent, interesting and professional, but the host families are incredibly lovely, caring and friendly! I look forward to coming back again!!
The classrooms are clean and neat, equipped with up-to-date tools. Learning materials are well thought-out. The teachers are very friendly and helpful...Exlinguo provides us with an ideal environment to learn a foreign language. Thanks to Exlinguo, I made a considerable progress in Russian in 4 weeks. It was really a nice experience to live and study in Novosibirsk!
J'ai passé 7 semaines à Exlinguo avec 5h de cours privés par semaine et j'ai progressé à grande vitesse. Les professeurs sont compétents, motivés et sympathiques. Le centre est très agréable et parfaitement adapté à l'apprentissage. Entre les activités culturelles et l'hébergement en famille d'accueil, l'immersion est intensive mais j'en suis ressorti non seulement avec un meilleur niveau de russe mais aussi avec une meilleure connaissance de la culture et de l'environnement russe. N'ayez pas peur d'aller en Sibérie en hiver, c'est une expérience que je recommande chaudement !

Sehr gute Organisation, super Lehrer, moderne Schule mit allen technischen Einrichtungen Super Novo(sibirsk)! Waren leider nur eine Woche da, aber wir kommen wieder. Grossartige Mannschaft!
La première fois que j'ai vu Novossibirsk sur une carte, j'ai eu froid dans le dos. Ou plutôt j'ai eu peur d'avoir froid aux oreilles. Et ça, je ne vous le cache pas, il faut mettre sa chapka... Mais une fois celle-ci mise, on découvre des habitants au coeur aussi chaleureux que que le froid climat ! J'ai vraiment fait de merveilleuses rencontres ! Que ce soit les professeurs et le reste de l'équipe qui sont plus géniaux les uns que les autres, ou avec ma famille avec qui je me suis pris plein de fou-rire. Merci a vous tous ! De plus j'ai adoré les activités proposées, parfois tranquilles, parfois sportives, parfois culturelles, parfois drôles... Aller faire du ski de fond dans la forêt, regarder le festival des Cosaques et jouer au jeux traditionnels, On peu dire une chose : je me suis autant amusée que j'ai appris ! Et qu'est ce que j'ai appris ! Je n'en reviens pas d'avoir pu avoir eu tant de discussions avec tant de russes ! Pouvoir communiquer avec eux, pouvoir rigoler, et... -pour moi qui suis dyslexique- le graal : Lire les pancartes des magasins pour savoir de quoi il s'agit ! Je rigole un peu là-dessus, mais pour ceux qui on des difficultés d'apprentissage, lors de mon stage, on était deux dyslexiques aux besoin différents et les professeurs ont été très attentifs et je leur en remercie. Merci pour ce merveilleux stage ! Je reviendrai à coup sûr !
Ich war im Januar zwei Wochen bei Exlinguo in Nowosibirsk und kann diesen Kurs nur empfehlen. Alles war perfekt organisiert und die Lehrer waren alle sehr engagiert und hilfsbereit. Täglich gab es am Nachmittag Präsentationen oder Kulturprogramme, es gab aber auch genug Zeit um selbst die Stadt zu erkunden. Die Unterbringung in einer Gastfamilie ist auch nur zu empfehlen, da kann man das Gelernte gleich praktisch anwenden. Ich werde auf jeden Fall wiederkommen!
Wir können Exlinguo einfach jedem Russisch Lernenden nur allerwärmstens empfehlen - für jedes Sprachniveau. Besonders hervorgehoben seien einmal mehr die außerordentliche Professionalität und Motivation der Lehrer, aber auch des gesamten Kultur- und sozialen Programms, das einem hervorragende Einblicke in die russische Kultur bietet und noch dazu enormen Spass macht! Novosibirsk im Winter ist ebenso zu empfehlen wie im Sommer. Es gibt vielfältige Freizeitmöglichkeiten von Wintersport, über romantische Schlittenfahrten mit der Troika durch den sibirischen Winterwalt bis hin zu Weltklasse kulturellen Veranstaltungen im Opern- und Balletttheater, in der neuen Philharmonie sowie den vielen anderen Theatern der Stadt. Wir kommen bald wieder!
Learning Russian in Novosibirsk in Winter was a wonderful experience. The city requires you to speak Russian, unlike in Moscow. It is a wonderful place! The city is welcoming and dynamic - there is plenty to do and the teachers are always willing to offer suggestions (that is, if there already wasn't something arranged on the cultural schedule). It is a cosy and familial school setting and the teachers are wonderful. We had such a lovely New Year's celebration together - thank you for making it memorable and so wonderful!
Friendly and at the same time professional atmosphere
I was happy to return to Exlinguo Novosibirsk after spending several months in the center three years ago. The language center and its employees are (still) fabulous and snow-covered Novosibirsk in the winter is a unique experience. I would definitely recommend this school to anybody who wants to improve his or her Russian language skills in a very friendly and at the same time professional atmosphere. I will be back for sure!
Exlinguo ist eine sehr gute Wahl, wenn es um das Erlernen der russischen Sprache geht. Bereits auf Anfängerniveau werden die Schüler durch ein breites Spektrum an ansprechenden Themen zum Sprechen angeregt, so dass man bereits nach wenigen Tagen große Fortschritte darin macht. Die Lehrkräfte sind sehr kompetent und engagiert. Auch das Freizeitprogramm ist so gestaltet, dass es neben einem Einblick in die russische Alltagskultur einen bestmöglichen Lerneffekt ermöglicht. Die Schule ist super ausgestattet und die Atmosphäre überaus freundlich. Sehr empfehlenswert!
Hvis du vil lære russisk, kan jeg varmt anbefale Exlinguo. Det er guld værd at have profesionelle lokale lærer til at undervise. Du får en god kombination af sproglære og mulighed for at lære noget mere om Rusland fra nogle, som selv bor der. Du kan i den periode du vælger at være på kurset, have fuld fokus på at lære sprog, og du skal ikke sidde på en dansk aftenskole de sene aftentimerne, hvor du normalt er træt. Du hjembringer noget godt undervisningsmateriale, som du kan bruge til at øve videre efter, når du er hjemme. Du har også mulighed for at møde andre studerende, som interesserer sig for Rusland og det russiske samfund. Vælg så vidt muligt at bo hos en lokal familie. Du kommer næsten til at føle dig som en ekstra russer.
J'ai fait un stage de cinq semaines à l'école Exlinguo de Novossibirsk et je n'ai que de bons mots pour cette organisation. L'équipe m'a aidé à améliorer significativement tous les aspects de l'apprentissage du russe, en particulier la conversation, et cela a contribué à l'obtention du certificat TRKI-1. L'encadrement est vraiment extraordinaire et les enseignants sont à l'écoute des difficultés particulières de chacun. La ville de Novossibirsk est un endroit idéal pour une immersion totale à la fois linguistique et culturelle et je garde un excellent souvenir de ce passage en Sibérie. Ayant déjà fait des séjours linguistiques à Aldershot, San José, Berlin et Cape Town, mon séjour à Novossibirsk fut le meilleur au point de vue scolaire. Je recommande chaudement Exlinguo à tous ceux qui voudraient vivre une expérience culturelle et linguistique enrichissante en Russie!

An excellent experience from start to finish. I came with high expectations which were met and duly exceeded! Highly professional and friendly staff who really care about their students’ needs and abilities, working in a comfortable, modern facility right in the town centre. I was treated to the best of Russian hospitality by my delightful host family, and was able to take part in a wide variety of extracurricular activities in and around the local area. They even arranged private balalaika lessons for me! I had intended to return to Britain directly, following the completion of my course, but I found that I was instilled with such confidence and enthusiasm that I decided to stay and travel around the Russian Federation for another month. Having gone from not being able to speak any Russian whatsoever, to holding extended conversations with a variety of strangers from the furthest reaches of Russia, after eight short weeks, I am very impressed with the exceptional work of ExLinguo. I would gladly recommend this course to anyone. Quite frankly, this is the best way to learn Russian. I will certainly be back!
I didn't quite know what to expect when I started, but ended up being incredibly impressed. The entire experience is very polished: lessons were excellent with small class sizes, and with the teachers even tailoring worksheets to my interests (eg economics) without me even having to ask; the centre was well located and very comfortable, and staff offered me a great deal of help with finding things to do in Novosibirsk/the surrounding area; evening activities were great, and the family I stayed with were really fantastic. I would recommend the centre to anyone, and am hoping to come back sometime in the future!
